For patients who may benefit from additional pain control during an office procedure, Penthrox® may be prescribed. Penthrox is a fast-acting, inhaled pain medication that can help make procedures such as IUD insertions or endometrial biopsies more comfortable. Because it is a prescription medication, a referral from your healthcare provider is required so we can review your medical history and ensure it is a safe and appropriate option for you.
Not everyone requires Penthrox, and many patients do well with other pain management options. Your healthcare provider can help determine which approach is best for you.
